Ruth Edwards CEN Minutes 2015

I qualified as SLT in the 1980’s and have been working in the area of dysfluency ever since. During my career I have set up specialist services for 3 Trusts. I am now employed my Humber NHs foundation Trust where I head up the service for children who stammer.

I am passionate about the running of groups to support the children we work with. We regularly organise teachers and parent workshops, intensive and regular therapy and support groups for children. In 2006 I was one of the founding therapists who instigated the Yorkshire CEN residential course for children who stammer.

I have recently been involved in the leading of the Hull2017 creative communities project ‘Hear in Hull’ The result of this work is an amazing animation produced by Peter Snelling of mypockets films . He worked with children and adults who stammer who live in our area. The animation is called #mystammeringtap.

I am privileged to be the minute’s secretary of the CEN. A role I have been doing for 2 years.
