kevin fower committee 2016Kevin Fower: I qualified as a speech and language therapist from City University in 2006. I previously worked in an Early Years community team before joining the Michael Palin Centre in 2009. My current role includes clinical work with children, young people and adults who stammer. I am involved in the national teaching programme, teaching a range of courses at the MPC and across the UK and in 2016 I also taught at the University of Jonkoping (Sweden) and Trondheim (Norway). I am also involved in the research programme at the Centre, including a multiple single case study which focuses on the process of change during and following an intensive group therapy programme. I recently completed an MRes in Applied Research in Human Communication Disorders at UCL and I look forward to further developing my research skills. LUCYKASSELL2016Lucy Kassell:

I qualified as a speech and language therapist from the University of Newcastle in 2006 and began working in London. I had several children on my caseload who stammered and felt very unprepared and unsure what to do with them. Over the next few years I attended conferences and training courses and developed a real passion for working with adults and children who stammer. Following a few years living abroad in Switzerland I was lucky enough to get a temporary contract at the Stammering Support Centre where I consolidated these skills. After a year I moved on to Harrogate into my current role where I continue to hold the Hambledon and Richmonshire fluency caseload as well as working with mainstream school children. I was thrilled to join the national fluency CEN in October 2015 as study day coordinator.    This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

ClaireMcNeilSDO2016aClaire McNeil: I have worked in Swindon since 1982! My interested in stammering started as a student and this interested has continued and grown. I am a founder Trustee of The Fluency Trust Charity and feel passionate about group work for children who stammer. With my colleagues we developed the Swindon Fluency Packs following on from our group work with children and young people. I currently run training sessions for Swindon Borough Council in Solution Focused Practice and love this way of working. I am excited to be helping to organised study days for the CEN and I am looking forward to meeting and sharing with colleagues.
